British Nigerian Soul and Jazz Singer Songwriter meets the hr Big Band for a second time for the Rheingau Music Festival.
With one of the biggest voices in music today his feeling and virtuosity and his three and a half octave deep baritone voice is the perfect instrument for breaking musical and cultural boundaries, and he moves freely between jazz, soul, R & B, pop and world music, where he explores his Nigerian roots.
Onabulé returns for this special programme with the HR Big Band presenting a handful of songs that have inspired him from Al Jarreau to Curtis Mayfeild and specially selected songs from his own catalogue of nine albums.
Ola has performed at many of the most respected international jazz festivals including main stages of Montreal, Vancouver, San Sebastian, Istanbul, Washington, and Umbria, as well as at concert halls and Jazz clubs worldwide, building and consolidating a reputation with audiences globally.

"Play", "Write", "Lead" - these are the three focuses, among which the students of the new master studies "Big Band" of the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt in cooperation with the Frankfurt Radio Bigband can choose. It is the aim of the young professionals to dive deeper into the orchestral jazz. The students will be regularly supported by renowned big band leaders, composers, and arrangers from all over the world. For two concerts each season, the Frankfurt Radio Bigband will furthermore become a hybrid ensemble as single members of the band will leave their places to the students with the focus "Play". The program of this night was prepared and rehearsed together with the drummer and composer John Hollenbeck.
