Be invited to a very special S(w)inging Christmas this year: For the first time, also the little ones are welcome to sound the bell for the Christmas season together with the musicians of the Frankfurt Radio Bigband. And for this occasion, the band will bring along a huge suitcase packed with all the great Christmas Hits. In addition to this, the host, actor, and Hessian-by-choice Klaus Krückemeyer will take care of the fun entertainment around the program. So, you better take out your songbooks and start practicing the old classics now, since starting with A as in "Alle Jahre wieder" till W as in "We wish you a merry Christmas", everybody may sing, laugh, dance and swing along with the musicians of the Frankfurt Radio Bigband!

With her compositions Jihye Lee brings whole pictures and stories to life. And doing so, she is not afraid to "take chances", Jim McNeely knows, as the Korean composer and arranger is full of creativity. In addition to this, Lee approaches jazz music in quite a fresh way. Not for no reason: Originally successful as an indie pop singer in her home country, she only discovered her love for jazz and large ensembles when she began her studies at Berklee College of Music in 2011. Meanwhile, the musician lives in New York and has long finished her master’s degree at Manhattan School of Music. This evening, together with the Frankfurt Radio Bigband, she will tell yet a new musical story.

Christmas is the festival of tradition. And so also this year, you will not have to do without "Swinging Christmas". Together with Fola Dada the Frankfurt Radio Bigband will get you in the mood for "The most wonderful time of the year". The musician with Nigerian roots is one of the most renowned jazz singers in Germany and was just recently awarded the Deutscher Jazzpreis in the category "Best national singer". Walter Renneisen will once again take over the part of the storyteller for this night. So, why don’t you get Rudolph out of his stables and undertake a lovely "Sleigh Ride" through the beautiful "Winter Wonderland" to Bad Nauheim or Frankfurt? As there by the imaginary fire and along with some mulled wine and cinnamon cookies, the Frankfurt Radio Bigband will play the great Christmas classics from all over the world for you!
